BOTAŞ Hatay Dörtyol Facility – 2.5 km Pier Measurement and Point Cloud Production

Facility Measurement and Three-Dimensional Existing Condition Documentation

At BOTAŞ's facility in Dörtyol, Hatay, we conducted a documentation study to measure the current situation and create point cloud data along a 2.5-kilometer stretch. By recording the physical elements in the industrial facility environment and their spatial relationships with each other, we prepared a three-dimensional data infrastructure that can be used as a reference in subsequent engineering studies.

During the field studies, we documented the existing geometry and spatial layout of the sections within the scope of the measurement. By taking a holistic approach to the measurements spread across a long study area, we aimed to enable the examination of the relevant sections of the facility in a common data environment. This allowed us to evaluate the existing conditions on site, both in terms of the general layout and in detail.

By processing the obtained measurement data, we created a point cloud of the study area. This dataset, which provides a three-dimensional representation of the physical environment, allows for the digital examination of the dimensions, locations, and distances between the measured elements. The point cloud created a record of the current situation, facilitating the understanding of complex geometries and spatial relationships in the field.

The prepared data infrastructure can serve as a reference for modeling, design, revision, and technical coordination studies that can be carried out in later stages. Thanks to this record reflecting the field conditions at the time of measurement, project teams can digitally examine the relevant areas and evaluate design decisions together with the current situation data.

As KG Engineering, through our 2.5-kilometer measurement and point cloud generation study at the BOTAŞ Hatay Dörtyol Facility, we have brought together field data spread across a wide working area into a holistic digital resource. By documenting the sections of the facility within the scope of the measurement in three dimensions, we have provided a technical basis that will form the foundation for future engineering and application processes.
