Industrial Facility – Ground Deformation and Water Flow Analysis

Slope and Drainage Analysis from Floor Levels

We conducted ground deformation and slope analysis on the industrial facility floor to examine surface level differences based on existing floor elevations and to evaluate water movement on the ground. Within the scope of the study, we determined the drainage behavior of the existing surface by considering both the floor geometry and the locations of water drains.

In our analyses conducted using floor elevation levels, we examined the elevation changes in the ground and the slope directions created by these changes. We evaluated the general slope pattern of the surface, as well as local low-elevation areas and geometric differences that could affect water flow. Thus, we considered the ground surface not only in terms of elevation values but also in terms of its effect on water movement. In the continuation of the analysis, we checked the water flow paths on the surface with simulations based on the existing soil geometry. We examined the directions in which the water might move, its potential to reach existing drains, and areas with accumulation potential. By evaluating the placement of water drains together with the surrounding floor elevations, we made visible the relationship between surface slopes and drainage points.

Through simulation checks, we evaluated the potential effects of reverse slopes or local elevation differences on water flow to drains. The findings provided a technical basis for potential ground corrections and drainage adjustments based on the current situation. This approach supported the identification of areas requiring intervention and the evaluation of solution options based on measurement data.

At KG Engineering, we reveal the impact of soil geometry on the operating conditions of industrial facilities through engineering analyses. In this study, we combined floor elevations with slope and water flow simulations to contribute to the evaluation of the existing soil in terms of drainage and to support improvement decisions with concrete field data.
