MacroCenter – Yeniköy 2D Architectural Survey Project

A comprehensive architectural survey project was carried out at MacroCenter's store in Yeniköy, which has approximately 2000 m² of indoor construction area, to provide a basis for the renovation and architectural arrangement works. In this large area with in-store operations and high density, details that traditional measurement methods were insufficient for were transferred to a digital environment using our technological solutions.

Technical Implementation and Methodology:

• Rapid Site Measurement: The large and complex 2000 m² structure was scanned with the Leica RTC360 3D Laser Scanner. Thanks to its 2 million point per second capture speed and HDR imaging capability, all architectural details, shelving systems, column applications, and ceiling details within the store were recorded with millimeter precision in a very short time.

• Scan2CAD Workflow: High-density point cloud data obtained from the field is processed by our expert team and transferred to a CAD environment. In this process, raw data is transformed into meaningful architectural lines, producing the most up-to-date data representing the current state of the building.

• Detailed 2D Design: As a result of the study, all floor plans, sections, and elevations of the store have been prepared according to architectural standards. Critical details such as the routes of electrical and mechanical lines have been fully shown on the 2D projects.

Values Added by the Project:

• Time Saving: The survey of a large area of 2000 m² was completed 70% faster than traditional methods thanks to laser scanning technology.

• Flawless Architectural Foundation: By minimizing errors that could arise from manual measurements, architectural design and implementation teams are provided with an "As-Built" project they can work on with confidence.

• Minimal Operational Disruption: Store operations and customer traffic were minimally affected because the measurement process was completed very quickly. Comprehensive Data Archive: The digital data obtained has created a permanent digital archive not only for the current project but also for all future maintenance and renovation work.
