
MSB - Measurement of Mechanical Lines with Terrestrial Scanning Systems
3D Laser Scanning Measurement of Mechanical Equipment with Leica RTC360
We have successfully completed the project of digitizing the complex, dense, and highly precise mechanical lines and piping systems located in facilities under the Ministry of National Defence. Using our Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) systems, which reduce the margin of error to zero in the creation of as-built projects for industrial facilities, we have created digital twins of these facilities.
During the field implementation phase of the project, we used the Leica RTC360 3D Laser Scanner technology, one of the fastest and most precise devices in its class. We recorded complex mechanical elements with millimeter accuracy.
Flawless Detail with 2 Million Points Per Second: Mechanical rooms, pipelines, valves, pumps, and industrial equipment were scanned with the Leica RTC360's high-speed scanning capability, achieving 2 million points per second. This allowed even the most complex lines within the facility to be fully digitized.
HDR Imaging and Smart Integration: Thanks to the device's integrated HDR camera system, not only the geometric data (point cloud) but also realistically colored visual data of mechanical lines is obtained, maximizing the distinguishability of the lines.
Reverse Engineering and Maintenance/Repair Foundation: The obtained millimeter-accurate raw data was processed and transformed into as-built projects, modification plans, and 3D solid models needed by facility management. The generated data provided a flawless engineering foundation for future maintenance, repair, capacity expansion, and simulation studies.
High Security and Zero Errors: In this project, which we conducted in accordance with MSB standards and with maximum confidentiality and security discipline, we combined Leica RTC360 technology with our expert engineering to once again prove our strength in the fields of industrial surveying and reverse engineering.
