Osmanbey and Baytar Ahmet Street LOD 300 Model Project
Terrestrial Laser Scanning and LOD 300 Level 3D Model Generation
For DS Architecture, we carried out laser scanning and three-dimensional modeling studies in the Osmanbey and Baytar Ahmet Street project areas to document the existing buildings and street texture. Using point cloud data obtained with a Leica RTC360 terrestrial laser scanner, we transferred the geometry of the buildings and their spatial relationships with their surroundings to a digital environment.
We combined the field surveys in Cyclone REGISTER 360 software to create a comprehensive point cloud for modeling studies. Using this data as a reference, we prepared three-dimensional solid models at LOD 300 level in AutoCAD. We created the structural elements within the model according to their existing dimensions, shapes, and locations.
Documenting Building and Street Texture: We recorded building facades, varying building alignments along the street, and visible architectural elements using laser scanning.
Solid Model Generation from Point Cloud: We modeled existing building geometries in three dimensions in AutoCAD, directly referencing field data.
Architectural Representation at LOD 300 Level: We incorporated the door and window openings, floor levels, projections, and other architectural elements within the project scope into the model, along with their dimensions and locations.
Holistic Spatial Assessment: By considering the structures together within their street context, we enabled the examination of facade arrangements, mass relationships, and the existing layout in a three-dimensional environment.
With the LOD 300 level models we prepared, we provided DS Architecture with a digital basis that reflects existing site conditions and can be used in their design and architectural evaluation processes.
